Also called 'Lily of the Incas'. Flower symbolizes friendship, individual petals symboliz eunderstanding, humour, patience, empathy, commitment and respect.
Pollinator and hummingbird friendly. Plants are slighly poisonous to animals, but deer browsing was reported - so protect it from the deer.
Blooming time : mid summer to late summer
Size : 3-3.5' tall x 2-3' wide clumps
USDA zones : 6 to 9, in zone 6 plant in sheltered position and winter protection is benefitial. Fully hardy in drained soils (without protection)
Culture: sun, half shade, average soil, clay loam soil, loam, drained soils - likes higher content of organic material (amend with compost, old manure) . Neutral to slightly acidic soils are the best.
