Amsonia hubrichtii - ARKANSAS BLUESTAR

Reminds of smaller shrub with very narrow needle-like leaves.

Awesome golden fall color (starts as chartreuse/coppery).

Long-lived deer and rabbit resistant perennial.

The flowers are a medium-dark steel blue in late spring. It will flop in shade, plus the more sun it gets, the better the fall color is.

Very attractive, dependable and long-lived perennial. Black walnut and drought resistant plant. Easy to grow, although the growth is a bit slow in first couple of years. Well adapted to summer heat and humidity.

Best planted in groups or masses, but it can be used as a single shrub too. Excellent plant for sunny landscaping projects, rain gardens, borders, cottage gardens, woodland edges and butterfly gardens. Can be combined with majority of commonly available perennials and also with medium shrubs.

  • AMSONIA HUBRICHTII - THREAD LEAVED BLUESTAR (ARKANSAS AMSONIA) 5

Posted by Brad pressley on Nov 25 2020

These plants are so healthy and strong. The highest quality of plants I've ordered yet. These aren't tiny, they're well established. Ordered in Autumn so I could already see the beautiful change in color of this plant. Can't wait to report back in Spring.
