Anemone hupehensis var. japonica 'Pamina' - JAPANESE ANEMONE 'PAMINA'
'Pamina' is cultivar with 2" wide, deep rose-pink double flowers and overlapping petals. Star performer awarded by the Award of Garden Merit by RHS (Royal Horticultural Society, Britain).
2.5-3' tall x 2-2.5' wide clumps, bigger basal leaves at the ground, slender stems with round buds and large flowers in September-October (sometimes starts in August).
Japanese anemony spread with roots and in time will form little colonies.
Full sun (in cooler areas), otherwise half shade to light (dappled shade). Average soils with average moisture (medium).
Japanese anemone will appreciate some organic matter in the soil or leafy or organic mulch, but it is tough and adaptable and does fine in heavier clayish soils too. Don't plant in waterlogged soils.
Suitable for zones 5 to 9.
Var. japonica originates in southern China.
Plants are resistant to rabbits, but deer can browse on them, which can be serious trouble, especially where it's overpopulated!
Attracts pollinators and some butterflies. Tolerates black walnuts.
Best in half shade flower beds, in sunny or half-shaded woodland edges, coastal gardens (tolerant to salt), meadows, cottage gardens, modern landscaping or for naturalizing
Goes well with many common perennials and grasses. Easy to grow perennial and good cut flower.
Pot size : square 3.5" x 4" deep perennial pot
