Aster divaricatus (Eurybia divaricata) - WHITE WOOD ASTER
Very adaptable, tough mounding perennial. White Wood Aster has smaller, fragrant, starry flowers (slightly less than 1'' in diameter) that are borne very abundantly on wiry stems. In full bloom this perennial is covered with flowers; if grown in shade there are less blooms, but on the other hand you can plant it in full shade or, even better, dry shade - exactly where many other plants will fail.
Aster divaricatus was one of the 7 top performing asters in the 2003-2009 Chicago Botanical Gardens trials (good health, performance, and flower coverage, long-lived, no diseases - click here for full study). It is tolerant to black walnut trees.
This is a popular perennial in Europe, where it's planted in public spaces, parks, and in flower beds, often combined with prairie plants like Echinacea, Monarda, and Rudbeckia, or in shade gardens, especially dry shade. It is a largely underused perennial in the USA.

White Wood Aster
We ordered a fair sized group of 7 different types of plants. All of the plants came to us well packaged and were shipped to us quite quickly. All of the plants arrived in good shape and they are now thriving in our garden.
