Aster novi-belgii 'Isis' - NEW YORK ASTER 'ISIS'
'Isis' is cultivar introduced by famous Austrian plantsman Christian H. Kreß from Sarastro nursery.
(you may know his more famous introduction - Campanula punctata 'Sarastro' ).
'Isis' is meant to be vital and disease resistant cultivar in European climate, which doesn't work that well here in hot humid Midwestern conditions, but it still seems to look better than other cultivars of A. novi-belgii x Aster dumosus hybrids.
Pink flowers, regular mounds of around 1' tall x 1.5' wide.
Aster can suffer with powdery mildew, to avoid this, grow the plant in a medium moist, good garden soil, full sun and airy spot.
Suitable for sunny borders or can be used as cut flower. Combine with border perennials like tall Phloxes, tall Asters, Echinaceas, or non-native perennials like Hemerocallis or hardy Geraniums. Michaelmas asters seem to be shorter-lived perennials in Midwest, and probably better performing in cooler areas of zones 4,5, 5/6 with cooler summer nights.

Blooming time: September/October
Size: 1.5' tall x 1' wide.
USDA zones : 5 to 8
Culture: Sun, half sun, average soil
