Cultivar with bicolor maroon/yellow flower that age to yellow. Dense, bushy clump, blue-gray foliage, ornamental seedpods.
Floriferous variety due to secondary branching.
2.5'-3' tall and 3' wide clumps, somewhat reminding of little shrub.
Sun to half shade (4-6 hours), flowers better in the full sun. Adaptable to many soil types with average moisture to medium-dry (incl. clay, sandy or poor soils, preferably slightly acidic to neutral).
Avoid waterlogged soils only!
Slowly growing and slower to establish, but long-lived perennial.
Flowers at the end of spring/beginning of summer. Dry or dried seedheads can be used in dry arrangement.
Hardy in zones 4-9.
Deer and rabbit resistant. Attracts butterflies and some native bees.
Heat, humidity, drought (once established) and salt tolerant plant.
