Dense, ground covering grass with late summer flowers and striking coppery-pink fall color.

Similar to the popular 'Karl Foerster' grass, but much smaller.

Blooming Time: from mid summer to early fall, brown-yellow flowers
Size:
2-3' tall x 3' wide, in time grows into slightly wider than taller clump
USDA Zones: 4 to 9

Culture:
full sun to half shade. Average soils, moderately fertile to fertile. Adaptable, but avoid waterlogged soils. Heat and humidity tolerant.
Moisture Needs:
average (medium to medium-dry), to slightly moist, adaptable. Established plants tolerate some droughts.
Origin:
hybrid, Asian origin
Deer/Rabbit Resistant:
yes / yes
Attracts Butterflies or Pollinators:
no/no
Attracts Hummingbirds:
no, but attracts small song birds
Pot Size:
3.5" wide x 5" deep pot
Plant Combinations: Ground covering and good neutral filler. Borders, cottage gardens, woodland edges, woodland gardens, along paths and patios, smaller rain gardens, modern gardens, naturalistic gardens. Low maintenance grass.

Good companions are majority of commonly available perennials like Agastache, Amsonia, shorter Anemone hupehensis, Aster, Coreopsis, Echinacea, hardy Geranium, Hemerocallis, Heuchera, shorter Helianthus, Iris, Kalimeris, Monarda, Nepeta, Origanum, Paeonia, Penstemon digitalis, Perovskia, Phlox, Physostegia, Rudbeckia, Salvia, Sedum, Solidago, Stachys, Stokesia, Tradescantia, Vernonia, Veronica, etc. and medium sized or other taller ornamental grasses (Pennisetum, Panicum, Soghastrum) or smaller shrubs.
