$10.99

Delicate, airy, looking perennial / deciduous sub-sbrub with unique purple-blue flowers that bloom late summer to early fall. Irregular white variegation, sometimes top leaves are completely white. From a distance the plant appears silvery-gray.

It dies back completely in the winter.

Trouble free and a not very common plant!

Blooming Time: August to September
Size:
3' tall and 3' wide (but some gardeners report older shrubs being wide up to 5'). In time forms wider shrubs.
USDA Zones:
6 to 9 (heat zone 1-9)
Culture:
full sun is the best (tolerates half shade), always well-drained soils (will not tolerate wet clay and poorly drained soils). Loose loam is the best, drained soil of any pH. Moderately drought resistant.
Moisture Needs:
medium to medium-dry
Origin:
Japan

yes / yes

Plant combinations: Provides an unusual detail for drained flower beds, perennial borders, cottage gardens, and butterfly gardens. Can be combined with many common perennials, grasses and smaller shrubs, but looks better with some more bold structures and plants with bigger leaves and flowers.
