Cephalaria gigantea - GIANT SCABIOUS
Also called yellow scabious, this tall, airy perennial is quite stately, reaching 6' tall pretty early in the season while other tall prairie plants are still rather small. It also starts flowering fairly early in the summer, creating a display of unique, pale, primrose-yellow flowers.
Avoid planting in waterlogged clay. Great for flower beds, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens.
