Ceratostigma plumbaginoides - HARDY PLUMBAGO
This ground covering, non-invasive perennial hails from Western China. It grows into a dense mat of glossy leaves with slightly reddish stems, accented with dark gentian-blue flowers in late summer through early fall. Towards the fall, the leaves turn dark red, sometimes while it is still blooming, making this plant irresistible.
Drainage is essential for successful growing - amend your soil with fine gravel and/or coarse sand.
Its best uses are as a ground covering perennial, for edges, drained flower beds, woodland edges, underplanting shrubs, and in rock gardens. Makes a good combination with spring bulbs because of its late sprouting. It's useful in dry shade areas, so it may be used as a lawn substitute in these difficult spots.

Plumbago
I ordered 7 plumbago plants from US Perennials in the thick of Winter. I needed them to complete a border of Plumbago that I had begun last year. Us Perennials cultivated them and cared for them until the perfect time for planting. In fact, I just planted them today. The plants were healthy and vigorous. I am looking forward to a showy display. Thank you for your kind service and your care of the plants and of me.
