Chrysopsis mariana - MARYLAND GOLDENASTER
This surprisingly showy, modest, and quick growing perennial is considered valuable for its very late flowering period. It forms upright clumps of dark green, nearly-evergreen leaves, and has about 1" wide, yellow, daisy-like flowers in August/September. It blooms for 6 to 8 weeks at the end of the season, after many perennials have already finished flowering.
This is most likely a short-lived perennial that will re-seed. Offers very late flowers and yellow color in the fall as well as great and very late pollinator support. Plant it in a sunny flower bed with drier or drained soil, rock garden, xeriscape, border, meadow, pollinator garden, or wild garden. Don't plant in wet clay; drought tolerant once established.
