This native wildflower is a very showy plant that has big, golden yellow flowers and a long flowering season. It grows in clumps of light green, hairy leaves.

For sunny flower beds with drier/drained soils, wildflower gardens, meadows or prairies. It is much longer-lived in areas with poor, dry soils, otherwise it is a more short-lived perennial, but reliably self-seeds and generally stays in the flower bed. Drought and heat tolerant.
