Probably the most vigorous and the longest-lived red-flowering cultivar, with sterile flowers and long blooming period.
Fresh green, needle-like leaves, wine red 1.5" flowers (in diameter), forms 1.5' tall and 1.5-2' wide clumps (spreads a little by rhizomes).
Blooms from June till August.
Provide full sun and somewhat leaner soil, that is well drained and stays medium moist to medium-dry (or dry). Sandy or gritty soils make this plant longer -lived, heavy and moist soil will make this plant short-lived.
Tolerant to heat, humidity, poorer and shallow soils.
Hardy in zones 5 to 9.
Attracts butterflies, deer avoid it. For good vigor is recommended to divide and refresh the clump after 2-3 years of cultivation.
Bred by plant hybridizer Darrell Probsts as one of the Coreopsis of Permathread™ series, patented plant under USPP#25736, so unlicensed propagation is prohibited.
For sunny border, dry flower beds, sandy, gravelly and drained soil, for bigger containers. Looks great with other drought tolerant perennials and shorter grasses.
Pot size : square 3.5" x 5" deep pot
