Turns yellow and dies back in early summer (to come back the following year).
Easy to grow and trouble free longer-lived perennials.

Good companion can be Bergenia, Brunnera, Geranium, Epimedium, Hosta, Iris sibirica, Omphalodes verna, Polygonatum, Primula, Hakonechloa. Good native perennial choices are Anemone, Asarum, Aster (woodland species), Eupatorium coelestinum, Heuchera, Geranium maculatum, Mertensia, Pachysandra procumbens, Polemonium reptans, Stylophorum, Trilliums, Waldsteinia fragarioides, and variety of spring emphemerals, sedges and ferns.
