One of the best spreading and groundcovering Epimediums. Deciduous, with reddish emerging leaves, rosy-red flowers with yellow stamens and red fall color.
Vigorous, reliable, perfect ground cover for dry shade. One of the fastest growing epimediums.
15" tall x 24" wide clumps, flower in late spring.
Half shade, dappled shade, light shade to deep shade. Average soil with some organic matter, average moisture (medium-moist or medium) to medium-dry. Soil should be slightly acidic to neutral.
Tolerates drier shade and black walnuts.
Deer and rabbits avoid it.
Hardy in zones 5 to 8.
Best is shade or half shade flower beds, woodland gardens, woodland edges, in front of shrubs, under canopy of trees, planted among tree roots in root zone. Darrel Probst introduction.

First time growing this plant
Wanted some interesting filler for dry shade conditions. Since planting they have grown well, as all my other US Perennial plants have, and the red tinge to the new leaves is attractive. Likely to give this 5 stars after it has more time in the garden.
