Eupatorium 'Polished Brass' - BONESET 'POLISHED BRASS'

Product Code: EUP-X-POLBRA
Shipping: Calculated at Checkout
$8.99

Excellent late and long flowering perennial, true pollinator, butterfly and Monarch magnet.

Vigorous and fast growing perennial, upright growth, non-flopping and clump forming plant (doesn't spread), flowering season from July/August to September/October.

Good size of 4' x 4' (tall x wide).

New Boneset hybrid from Brent Horvath from Intrinsic Perennial Gardens, Hebron, Illinois. Parent plants are Late Bonest cultivar 'Milk n' Cookies' and another parent is Late Boneset (Eupatorium serotinum).

The first parent provides better shape and good manageable garden size and red-brown color on newly emerged leaves and sprouts in the spring. The second parent can be visible on nice very glossy leaves. Both are excellent pollinator plants and so is this hybrid. It's wonderful to see that new cultivars can be so beneficial!

Any soil with average moisture to slightly wet soils, best in full sun, but it will tolerate half sun to half shade too, adaptable, easy to grow and virtually trouble free plant.

If you want to atrract birds, butterflies, monarchs, native and honey bees (and also small birds), this is a must plant for you!

Deer and rabbit resistant plant, hardy in zones 3 to 8.

Borders, pollinator gardens, butterfly gardens, Monarch garden, cottage gardens, naturalistic gardens and for naturalization.

Good perennial companions can be Agastache, Amsonia, fall Asters (A. novae-angliae, A. oblongifolius), Ascleapis (incarnata, sullivantii, speciosa), Baptisia, taller Coreopsis, Chelone, Echinacea, Eupatorium, Heliopsis, Helianthus, Liatris, Penstemon digitalis (and hybrids), Rudbeckia, Lobelia, Solidaho or Veronicastrum, also taller or tall grasses like Andropogon gerardii, Panicum virgatum, Sorghastrum nutans or even Schizachyrium scoparium.

Plants arrived in good shape, sufficiently rooted even though small (which I was aware of when ordering). Just planted so cannot say how they will grow. Will update review later this fall if any issues.
