Clump-forming perennial, with dense mounds of 3-5" leaves and small carmine-red flowers in airy clusters in late spring to early summer.

Grows up to 2' tall x 1-1.5' wide (including flowers). Ideally grown in full sun, part shade or very light dappled shade in average garden soil, average moisture. Soil shouldn't be waterlogged. It is drought tolerant in shorter terms. Hardy in zones 4 to 9.

Attracts pollinators, honeybees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Black walnut tolerant, deer and rabbit resistant plant.

Best planted in smaller grouns or in masses as a ground cover or big containers. Suitable perennial for rock gardens, drained soils, flower, borders and open woodland gardens. Effective edging plant along paths. It's recommended to divide it after 3-4 years, but this depends on growing conditions.
