Low mounds of evergreen narrow leaves, flat cluster of white flowers in mid to late spring. Plant is fully covered with blooms in the peak of flowering.
10" tall x 12" wide (gets wider in time, up to 24").
Full sun to half shade, average with average moisture to dry soil. Prefers somewhat drained soils, tolerates poorer soils. Don't plant in wet, waterlogged soils.
Drought tolerant, native to Southern Europe.
Hardy in zones 3 to 9.
Deer and rabbit resistant. Attracts some butterflies.
Valuable as edging plant, rock garden plant, xeriscape. Combine with Allium 'Summer Beauty' or other summer blooming Allium, Callirhoe, lower Coreopsis, lower cultivars of bearded Iris, lower Echinacea hybrids, Euphorbia, Geranium sanquineum, Geranium x cantabrigiense, some Heuchera hybrids, Kalimeris 'Blue Star', Monarda bradburiana, lower cultivars of Penstemon, Salvia, Sedum with bigger leaves,Sisyrinchium, Stachys byzantina, Veronica spicata hybrids and also lower grasses.
