‘Black Gamecock’ is a very vigorous Louisiana iris selection with huge 4-6” velvet, dark purple flowers in late spring to early summer on 2-3’ tall stems. This perennial is a true hummingbird magnet! If you need reliability, longevity, and beauty for a moist to wet, sunny spot, then this is the plant for you.
It's an ideal choice for naturalization, erosion control along streams, in wet meadows, or in medium moist flower beds. It can also be grown in a regular flower bed with average moisture with Carex, Phlox paniculata, Sanguisorba, Persicaria amplexicaulis, or Hemerocallis. It also goes well with Hibiscus moscheutos hybrids, Lobelia siphilita, Lobelia cardinalis, Eupatorium, and other moisture-loving Irises and perennials.

Healthy plants!
Packed very well. Plants arrived in great condition. I ordered two irises and when I opened the package, there is one extra Iris!
