Kalimeris incisa 'Blue Star' - JAPANESE ASTER 'BLUE STAR'
Easy to grow, pest free perennial with long blooming season from early summer to early fall.
Probably shorter-lived in hot and humid climate (at least it behaves that way in our very humid south central Indiana). So better in Norhern and coastal states with a bit cooler summers or cooler summer nights and lower humidity.
12-18" tall and wide clumps, 1" lavender-blue flowers from early June to early September.
Full sun, half shade, average moist = medium soils, drought tolerant once established. Prefers somewhat drained soils, even clay if it's drains enough (not waterlogged). Too wet soil may shorten it's life.
Hardy in zones 5-9, originates in north east Asia.
Deer and rabbit resistant. Pollinator friendly.
Flower beds, cottage gardens, rock gardens, cut flower gardens. Good companions can be many common perennials for sun, both native and non-native and medium sized grasses like Bouteloua, Muhlenbergia, Schizachyrium or Sporobolus.

Kalimeris Incisa "Blue Star"
Plants arrived and were very healthy. Once planted they have adapted very quickly.
