Sturdy, upright dense mounds covered with 2-3" large daisy flowers for the whole summer. Easy to grow and not flopping, not even after heavy storm.

Heat and humidity tolerant.

Blooming Time: early summer to late summer (deadheading significantly prolongs the bloom period - so July till September)

Culture:
full sun, mostly sun, average soils enriched with some organic matter - moderately fertile to fertile. Adaptable to many soil types, but avoid waterlogged soils.

average to drier, adaptable. Established plants tolerate some droughts.
Origin:
'Snowcap' was introduced by Alan Bloom of Blooms of Bressingham in the 1980s, in USA with cooperation of Wayside Gardens. Leucantheum x superbum was developed in California by Luther Burbank (1849-1926) in the 1890s near snow covered Mt. Shasta. Burbank crossed several species of daisies from 2 continents - L. vulgare (European oxeye daisy), L. maximum (Pyrenees chrysanthemum), L. lacustre (Portuguese field daisy) and Nipponanthemum nipponicum (Japanese field daisy)

Plant Combinations:

Good companions are majority of commonly available perennials like Agastache, Amsonia, shorter Anemone hupehensis, Aster, Coreopsis, Echinacea, Euphorbia, hardy Geranium, Hemerocallis, shorter Helianthus, Iris, Kalimeris, Monarda, Nepeta, Origanum, Paeonia, Penstemon digitalis, Perovskia, Phlox, Physostegia, Rudbeckia, Salvia, Sedum, Solidago, Stachys, Stokesia, Tradescantia, Vernonia lettermanii cultivars, Veronica, etc. and ornamental grasses.

Excellent and long lasting cut flower.
