Old-fashioned plant, cultivated in European gardens since the 12th century (since the crusades, which is reflected in other common names like "Knigh't Cross" or 'Jerusalem Cross").

Other names for the pink form are Dusky Salmon or Salmon Pink.

Easy to grow, but may require position sheltered from winds, and in too rich soils even staking.

The original red form of Maltese Cross was awarded by the Award of Garden Merit and is favorite cottage garden and cut flower plant.

    Arrived in good condition. Early June shipment. Nice basal clump of foliage with a few tall stems.
