Size: 3-4' tall x 1.5-2' wide clumps
USDA zones: 4 to 7 (with less humidity to 9)
Culture: full sun in cool areas, half shade up to light shade, adaptable to soil types - average soils that don't dry out too much (so heavier soils are better).
Moisture Needs: medium-wet, medium-moist, medium (average)
Origin: originates in European marshes (areas with cooler and moist soils).
Deer/rabbit resistant: yes/yes
Attracts pollinators: no
Attracts Hummingbirds: no, but attracts small song birds
Pot Size: square 3.5" x 4" deep perennial pot
Plant combinations: Long-lived and trouble free grass, when the growing conditions fit. We recommend use only in the cooler areas (in garden conditions of southern Indiana it doesn't perform as well as in Chicago area for example). Best planted in masses or small groups. Can be combined with many common perennials, good companions can be for example Aster, Boltonia, Chelone, Echinacea, shorter Helianthus, Heliopsis, late blooming Hemerocallis, Persicaria, Physostegia, Rudeckia, Sanquisorba, Thalictrum, with more shade Hosta, Primula.
