
Molinia caerulea 'Poul Pederson' - MOOR GRASS 'POUL PEDERSON'
Tight vase-shaped, clumping grass with small purple flowers. Leaves stays at the base only. The flowering stems turn yellow and coppery-yellow with the early fall. Compact, bushy selection made by famous garden designer Piet Oudolf, named after Danish nursery man.
Cool season grass, suitable only for cooler areas, northern and northeastern states. Avoid hot and dry climate.

Blooming Time: mid summer till late fall
Size: 2-3' tall x 1.5-2' wide
USDA Zones: Hardy in zones 4 to 9
Culture: Full sun in cool areas, half shade up to light shade, adaptable to soil types - average soils that don't dry out. Long-lived and trouble free grass, when the growing conditions fit. We recommend the use only in the cooler areas (in garden conditions of southern Indiana it doesn't perform as well as in Chicago area).
Moisture Needs: Preferably little bit moist or at least average moisture. Molinia caerulea doesn't like droughts - in dry periods watering is needed!
Origin: originates in European marshes (areas with cooler and moist soils).

Favorite plant of Roy Diblik (Northwind nursery, Wisconsin) or Adam Woodruff (Adam Woodruff Garden Design, Massachusetts). Can be seen in Lurie Garden in Chicago too.
