Subspecies of Bigfruit Evening Primrose (or Missouri Evening Primrose) from Kansas and Nebraska.

Smaller tough perennial for hot and dry spot or rock garden.

Large lemon-yellow flowers, 4" in diameter. Sprawling mound of narrow gray-green leaves. Blooms from June till September, with the peak June-July.

Full sun, half sun, well drained soil, rocky, gravely, gritty, sandy, rock gardens, average moisture to dry.

Hardy in zones 4 to 8.

Deer and rabbit resistant, attracts butterflies.

Suitable only for drained soils, rock gardens, crevice gardens, troughs, xeriscape, water wise planting. Combine with Agastache Kudos (series), Agastache 'Rosie Posie', Agastache rupestris, Campanula poscharskyana, Coreopsis pubescens, Coreopsis major, Erigeron pulchellus, bearded Iris (small or shorter cultivars), Euphorpbia (E. myrsnites, E. rigida), Liatris 'Kobold', Liatris microphylla, Liatris mucronata, Limonium latifolium, Stachys (Stachys byzantina), Monarda bradburiana, Monarda puncata, Penstemon, Origanum, Salvia nemorosa hybrids and smaller to medium sized grasses.
