Robust and bold switchgrass that goes against the trend of breeding smaller and smaller cultivars.

Upright, not-flopping, sturdy in wind. Heavily blooming from summer on, with flowers covering 2/3 of the plant.

Wide strappy blue green leaves.

Excellent for the background of a sunny bed and for privacy screen.

Heat, humidity, black walnut and drought tolerant.

Size : 7' tall x 5-6' wide clumps

Blooming time : late summer to fall/winter

USDA zones : 4 to 9

Culture : sun, half sun, adaptable to various soil conditions, average soil, loam, clay soil. Ideal pH of the soil - neutral to slightly acidic.

Moisture Needs : medium-moist, medium (average), medium-dry, tolerates droughts.

Origin : Introduced by Walters Gardens (Zeeland, Michigan). Patented plant under PP28192, unlicensed propagation for commercial purposes is prohibited. Part of PROVEN WINNERS program.
