Short, dense, tidy cultivar. Stays upright and maintains it's tidy statue. Flowers emerge light pink and open to loose hazy seedheads. Starts blooming and stays green later (till Halloween) than other Switchgrass.

: late summer to fall/winter
Size: 24-30" tall x 24" wide clumps (24" without the flowers)
USDA zones: 4 to 9
Culture: sun, half sun, adaptable to various soil conditions, average soil, loam, clay soil, gritty soil, lean soil, seaside areas with salt exposure
Moisture Needs: medium-moist, medium (average), medium-dry, tolerates droughts.
Origin: Discovered by landscape designer Paul Miskovsky on his property on Martha’s Vineyard (Massachusetts) in 2008. Possibly hybrid native Panicum virgatum and another unidentified species of Panicum (possibly Panicum amarum or so). This random seedling was shared with North Creek Nurseries (Landenburg, PA), properly trialed and later on introduced ‘Cape Breeze’ to the market. Patented under PP24895, propagation prohibited.
Black Walnut Tolerant: yes
Deer/rabbit resistant : yes/yes
Attracts Hummingbirds : no, but attracts small song birds

Plant combinations: Great performer for small gardens, seaside areas, public plantings, low maintenance and sustainable plantings. Seedheads look great against backlight.

Offers endless combinations with majority of common perennials for sun (those that prefer drier or medium-moist conditions). Looks good with bigger flowers (and seedheads) of big flowers like Echinacea, Rudbeckia, but also fall Asters, Chelone, taller Coreopsis, Helenium, Heliopsis, Helianthus, Hemerocallis (later blooming ones), herbaceous Hibiscus, tall Phloxes, Physostegia.
