Not very common plant for sale, clump forming native perennial, with basal leaves and pale to dark violet flowers in May to June.

Usually grows to 2' tall x 1' wide, naturally occurs in dry slopes, road banks, or dry woodlands in eastern USA, primarily in the Appalachian Mountains - AL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MD, NC, OH, PA, S , TN, VA, WV. Hardy in zones 5 to 8.

Full sun, half shade, dry soil to medium moist, but always drained. Drought tolerant, deer resistant plant.

Nice and easy to grow plant for rock gardens, sunny borders, woodland edges, pollinator garden or native wildflower gardens.

Pot size : square 3.5" x 4" deep perennial pot
