Showy perennial with unbranched stems, basal rosettes of leaves and nearly white flowers.
Looks like dainty version on Pentemon digitalis, which is more common in horticulture.

Usually 1.5-2' tall x 1-1.5' wide, flower earlier than other penstemons, for 3 week, starting usually May- May/June. Full sun, half shade, medium-moist to dry soil, preferably drained, rocky, shallower, sandy soils, that are not waterlogged. Flowers ale ligtly fragrant.
Hummingbird plant, but attracts also long-tongued bees such as bumblebees, carpenter bees, and mason bees.
Combine with Agastache, Asclepias tuberosa, Aster oblongifolius, Baptisia, Callirhoe, Coreopsis, Liatris, Monarda fistulosa, Monarda bradburyana, Rudbeckia missouriensis, R. fulgida var. deamii, Salvia azurea and many other drought tolerant perennials.
