Unusual bigger perennial for sun and drained or dry soil. Shrubby look, 3-4' tall x 3' wide plants.

Bigger fuzzy and grayish leaves, hooded pale gray-pink and fuzzy flowers in clusters from June/July till August/September.

Full sun is the best, but tolerates half shade too, drained soil with average moisture (medium) to medium-dry or dry. Moderately fertile.

Rocky, gritty, sandy, gravelly soils preferred, well drained loam.

Hardy in zones 6 to 8/9. (in zone 7 probably ok in average soils). We haven't tested it here yet, but it is supposed to be heat, drought and humidity tolerant plant. So far it's doing fine in pots, which is a good sign for the humidity tolerance.

Deer and rabbit resistant plant. Mint family flowers attract some pollinators and honey bees.

Native to Europe from Greece to Balkan states and to North Africa.

Best in dry flower bed, xeriscape, well drained soils, combined with other drought tolerant plants. Possible perennial companions are Achillea millefolium, Agastache, Asclepias (tuberosa, verticillata), Aster (A. leavis, A. oblongifolius, A. novae-angliae), Calamintha, Gaura, Geranium sanquineum, Eryngium, Echinacea, bearded Iris, Liatris, Monarda (M. fistulosa, M. punctata), Nepeta, Penstemon, Perovskia, Ruellia humillis, Salvia nemorosa hybrids, Sedum, Stachys, Stokesia, Solidago and medium sized grasses like Sporobolus, Muhlenbergia, Eragrostis or Bouteloa. Can be used in bigger rock gardens.

Pot size : square 3.5" x 5" deep pots
