$7.99

Wild form of tall phlox, for better support of pollinators and wildlife and naturalization.

Smaller flowers of pink tones attract butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators, but according to our observation, natural selection 'Jeana' is even better in it. 4-5' tall, narrow clumps, usually healthy foliage in comparison to some older cultivars.

Wild form of tall phlox prefer some shade during the day (half shade) - but grows also well in light shade or dappled shade. Prefers more moisture than garden cultivars, but average rain fall is usually enough. It's the best to plant these into not-amended soil, they grow perfectly in average soil or clayish soils (they usually flop in additionally enriched soils).

Blooming time : mid summer, blooms for six weeks, deadheading prolongs the season of bloom and prevent unwanted seedlings.

Size : 4-5’ tall x 1.5-2' wide, spacing 2'

USDA zones : 4 to 8

Culture : half sun, half shade, light shade, dappled shade.

Moisture Needs : medium, medium moist

Origin : Garden origin. The distribution of the wild species of Phlox paniculata on the map of USDA.

Deer/rabbit resistant : yes/yes - to our observation, the wild forms are not eaten by them, but cultivars are browsed readily. But if the deer is overpopulated in your area, even these can be browsed.

Attracts Butterflies or Pollinators : butterflies, native bees, honey bees

Attracts Hummingbirds : yes

Pot Size : square 3.5" x 4"deep perennial pot (1.22 pt/580 ml)
