This new, superb variety is from the Earlibeauty® collection bred by Primrose Path Nursery. This hybrid is descended from several wild species of Phlox native to the Eastern USA; it performs well in flower borders and is also more vigorous and adaptable than the older P. maculata and P. carolina cultivars.
Very clean plant with nice, healthy, semi-glossy leaves that grow in neat regular mounds, slowly forming ground-covering clumps. The fragrant and sterile flowers don't require deadheading or any special maintenance. No powdery mildew at all; loves some moisture. Big surprise in our nursery and highly recommended. Excellent in flower borders, bigger containers, woodland edges.
Beautiful with late flowering daffodils (Narcissus), tulips (Tulipa), Dicentra, Euophorbia, hardy Geranium, Irises (Iris x germanica, sibirica). Good native companions can be lower-growing perennials like Aquilegia canadensis, Aster novi-belgii, Chrysogonum virginianum, lower cultivars of Echinacea, Geranium maculatum, Heuchera, lower varieties of Physostegia virginiana and Chelone, Rudbeckia, Phlox paniculata, and Waldsteinia fragarioides.
Blooming Time: May - early summer, but often naturally reblooms! If you cut them back, you can enjoy even more flowers
Size: 12-16" tall x wide, spacing 1-2'
USDA Zones: 4 to 8
