Another tall candelabra primrose with clusters of orange flowers arranged in levels. Award of Garden Merit by Royal Horticultural Society in Britain.

Close to 2' tall x 0.5-1' wide, basal rosettes of fresh green leaves. Flowers in June-July and attracts butterflies and pollinators.

Requires some shade - half shade, dappled shade, shade, and ideally consistent moisture in soil. Tolerates wet clay.

Loamy, organic rich, from swampy to average garden soils that stay medium-moist, moist or wet. Neutral or acidic pH.

Hardy in zones 5 to 8.

Originates in Himalaya.

Looks naturally great along stream, bodies of water, swamps, bogs, woodland gardens, combine with perennials like Aruncus, Astilbe, Hosta, Rodgersia, many ferns, Carex or native Actea racemoa, Anemone canadensis, Arisaema triphyllum, Dodecatheon media, Podophyllum peltatum, Polygonatum biflorum, Sarracenia, Mertensia, some Trilliums and many native ferns and sedges (Carex).

Great for shade gardens, woodland gardens, wet areas in the half shade, close to water bodies or water features, water gardens. Seeds moderately where happy.
