Primula japonica 'Appleblossom' - CANDELABRA PRIMROSE 'APPLEBLOSSOM'
This Japanese primrose offers amazing late spring show - first off, this is not that tiny plant, and nice fresh green leaves contrast nicely with soft pink flowers that are arranged in clusters (candelabres).
Up to 24" tall x 12-15" wide, requires some shade - half shade, dappled shade, shade, and ideally consistent moisture in soil. Tolerant of heat and humidity (these primulas actually do well in Indiana!).
Loamy, organic rich, from swampy to average garden soils that stay medium-moist, moist or wet.
Hardy in zones 4 to 8.
Looks naturally great along stream, bodies of water, swamps, bogs, woodland gardens, combine with perennials like Aruncus, Astilbe, Hosta, Rodgersia, many ferns, Carex or native Actea racemoa, Anemone canadensis, Arisaema triphyllum, Dodecatheon media, Podophyllum peltatum, Polygonatum biflorum, Sarracenia, Mertensia, some Trilliums and many native ferns and sedges (Carex).
Great for shade gardens, woodland gardens, wet areas in the half shade, close to water bodies or water features, water gardens.
Pot Size : square 3.5" x 5" deep pot
