Small perennial for half shade edges, rock gardens and troughs.

Larger thick leathery ornamental leaves, clusters of flowers in pastel colors.

So far it seems to tolerate our hot and humid climate (zone 6a/6b, south central Indiana)

Blooming Time: early to mid spring (April, depending to your zone)
Size: usually 8-10" tall x 5-8" wide
USDA Zones: 4 to 8
Culture: half sun (to sun in cooler or northern areas or with enough moisture). Prefers partial or afternoon shade in zones 7 and higher (not suitable for hot humid climates). Average soil amended with organic matter, somewhat drained (avoid heavy wet and waterlogged soil).
Moisture Needs: medium, medium-moist
Origin: Europe, parents are Primula auriculata (ghrows on basic rocks in the mountain ranges of central Europe, including the western Alps, Jura Mountains, the Vosges, the Black Forest and the Tatra) and Primula hirsuta (subalpine meados in Pyrenees)
Black Walnut Tolerant: not
Deer/Rabbit Resistant: yes / yes
Attracts Butterflies or Pollinators: flowers attract some bees
Attracts Hummingbirds: no
Pot Size: square 3.5" x 4" deep perennial pot
Plant combinations: best for rock gardens, edges of half shade flower beds, bigger containers or troughs, plantings with rock, dry-stacked rock walls, beds close to patios and paths, where you can enjoy the unusual beauty. In good condition may seed around. Good companions are smaller plants that will not outcomete or smother it -  Clinopium, Dalea, small Euphorbia, Penstemons, Phlox subulata and hybrids, short Platycodon, Pulsatilla, Sedum, Thymus, Satureja and smals grasses and sedges.
