$6.99

Deam's Black-eyed Susan - this may seem like just another rudbeckia in a row, but no no! This variety can beat the most popular Rudbeckia fulgida 'Goldsturm', lets quote North Creek Nurseries :

"While there may be a bounty of black-eyed susan on the market, what makes Rudbeckia fulgida var. deamii a dream is its ability to wrap strength, beauty, disease and pest resistance all into one neat package. This variety won the prestigious Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1993 and if you grow it, you'll soon understand why!"

Clump perennial, doesn't spread by rhizomes, close to 3' tall and 2' wide, very hairy leaves, orange-yellow flowers. Very adaptable to virtually any soil - clay, loam, sandy, shallow. Prefers medium to moist soils, but can handle dry soils too. Sun, half shade. Flowers in late summer to early fall.

Native wildflower to Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. Hardy in zones 3-9.

Drought, humidity & heat tolerant, deer and rabbit resistant, actually disease and pest free plant!

For flower beds, naturalization, pollinator gardens, butterfly gardens, deer resistant landscaping, low maintenance landscaping,....Excellent durable perennial for ups and downs of future climate changes.
