Rudbeckia fulgida var. speciosa - ORANGE CONEFLOWER (clumps, drought and disease resistant)
Excellent native perennial - very drought and heat tolerant, deer and disease resistant (more than other rudbeckias).
Awarded by Award of Garden Merit by Royal Horticultural Society (UK)!

Vigorous, sturdy, very upright (doesn't flop), 2.5-3' tall x 18-24" wide clumps, that don't spread like 'Goldstrum'.
Full sun, half shade, average soils, medium moist to dry. Heat, drought resistant, very disease resistant. Orange-yellow flowers are 3-4" in diameter, blooms from mid summer to early fall.
Rabbits and deer avoid it. Good for butterflies and pollinators.
Hardy in zones 5 to 9.
Native wildflower to Midwest, Alabama and Georgia, see the USDA distribution map.
Easy to grow perennial for summer border, drier slopes, shallower soil, for erosion control, pollinator or butterfly garden. Very good cut flower.

Top quality specimens. well packed!
This US Native "black-eyed-susan" lookalike is an actual perennial (not a biennial), so I was thrilled that US Perennials had it for sale. Their plants are top quality. Not only that, they way they package and ship the plants is good for the environment and the plants arrive in great shape. Love this company!
