A vigorous and long blooming sage.

Reddish flowers, a bit irregular with shrubby growth.

Attracts hummingbirds, some bees and some butterflies.

Blooming Time: long flowering, starting in early to mid summer until fall (or frost)
Size: 3-4' tall and wide
USDA Zones: 7-9
Culture: full sun, half sun, average soil with some organic matter, moderatelly fertile to loam, average soils, drained soils. Once establishhed it is drought tolerant. Hardy to zone 7 and can be successfully overwintered in a cool garage or simply grown as an annual in cooler zones. 
Moisture Needs: medium-dry, medium (average)
Origin: Hybrid of D'Arcy's Sage - Salvia darcyi (Mexico native) and Mountain Sage - Salvia microphylla (native to the American Southwest and Mexico).
Black walnut tolerant: probably yes
