Stonecrop 'Matrona' is robust German selection, with brown-red tinged leaves and pale pink flowers.

Vigorous, care free, heat and drought tolerant perennial. Recipient of Award of Garden Merit by Royal Horticultural Society and several European awards.

2'-2.5' tall x 1-1.5' wide clumps. flowers from mid summer to early fall, but stays ornamental for most of the season, with pretty seedheads persisting over winter, until you cut them back in pre-spring.

Heat, humidity, drought tolerant. Deer and rabbit resistant, black walnut tolerant plant.

Sun, half shade, average garden soil, clay, sandy, rocky or shallow soil. Average moisture to medium-dry soil and even slightly moist soil. Very adaptable and durable.

Hardy in zones 3 to 9.

Attracts butterflies, including Monarchs, honey bees, some native bees and occasionally hummingbirds too. Excellent border plant for it's durability, longevity, good garden performance and visually robust structure.

Good company will provide majority of perennials on both spectrum of dry to average moist soils. Looks wonderful with grasses too.
