$7.99

Visually very attractive perennial with nice vertical structure, native to Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee, but surprisingly hardy in zones 5.

Very interesting, underused and not much known in horticulture yet.

The only requirements for this plant is full sun (or just very little of shade) and drained or dry soils (rocky, sandy, drained, shallower, poor, infertile soils) - moisture needs - medium moist or dry soil.

Usually grows to 5' tall x 2.5' wide clumps, rather big basal leaves up to 15" long, small leaves on the stems. In very dry soil can reach only 2' high.

Slightly fragrant, 2" pale yellow flowers in August-eptember. All plant is beautifully hairy. Adored by birds, bees and butterflies!

Best in sunny drier flower beds, xeriscape, pollinator garden, prairie plantings, wildflower planting, bird gardens, pollinator or butterfly gardens.
