'Silver Carpet' is non-flowering and small-leaf cultivar of Lamb's ear.
Modest, quite fast growing and easy to grow, ground covering perennial. Popular for it's dense mats of hairy silver leaves and being very good weed suppressor.
4-6" tall x 18-30" wide. Full sun, half shade, can grow fairly well in dry shade. Prefers dry to medium-dry soil, always drained (wet clay will cause rotting).
Excellent groundcover, edging plant, perfect companion for shorter cultivars of roses, wonderful with Aster oblongifloius, Calamintha, Geranium (G. renardiii, G. sanquineum, hybrids), Eryngium, Echinacea, smaller Hemerocalis, Liatris, Nepeta, Origanum, Perovskia, Rudbeckia, Solidago, Thymus, Veronica spicata, and other common perennials, both native or non-native.
