" 'Pink Cotton Candy' was bred by Richard Hawke from an open pollinated betony seedling and introduced by the Chicago Botanic Garden in 2009. Its upright flowering stems have dense whorls of cotton candy pink two-lipped flowers in which the upper lip is lighter pink than the lower lip. The flowers fade to a lighter pink creating an additional two-tone appearance. ‘Pink Cotton Candy’ blooms freely from June to August, occasionally blooming again in fall. It grows 1.5 to 2 ft. in both height and spread. U.S. Plant Patent #21436 issued on November 2, 2010"
Richard Hawke, Plant Evaluation Manager of Chicago Botanic Garden had luck and good eye. This betony has pretty looking leaves - somewhat glossy and ornamental for the whole season. Flower peak is early summer, but blooming sporadically continues till August, the seedheads turn dark brown black and decorate this perennial the whole winter (or till you cut it back).
Easy to grow and vigorous. Leaves stay more at the base, it will slowly spread to form medium-sized groundcovering mats.
Prefers average moisture (medium) and average soils, including heavier clayish soils (that are not waterlogged). Tolerates some droughts too. In hot and humid south will appreciate half shade.
Deer and rabbit avoid it.
Attracts pollinators.
This cultivar is patented and can't be propagated without licence.
Hardy in zones 4-9.
This plant belong to Chicagoland Grows® selection (= plant introduction partnership of the Chicago Botanic Garden, the Morton Arboretum and the Ornamental Growers Association of Northern Illinois formed to promote plant cultivars that perform well in northern Illinois).
Excellent cut flower, great garden plant for sunny or half shade flower bed. Can be combined with majority of common garden perennials. It meets and overlaps with Aquilegia, earl, medium sized Phlox hybrids, early flowering Echinacea (E. pallida, Ech. tennesseensis, Ech. paradoxa), Nepeta, Oenothera, Salvia nemorosa, Penstemon or Monarda didyma hybrids. In combination with narrow-leaved grasses provides beautiful naturalistic show (combine with Sporobolus, Sesleria autumnalis or Muhlenbergia).

Healthy plant
The 'Pink Cotton Candy' Stachys I received is healthy and well-rooted, and I'm expecting it to do well. I will definitely keep ordering from US Perennials. So glad I found this company. Your prices are reasonable, the selection of plants is exciting, and the plants are generally healthy and well-grown.

…but the Stacey’s Pink Cotton Candy were the best! The plants were in great shape. I was pleased with the size as well. I just placed another order.

Stachys Pink Cotton Candy
Arrived as a good size plant with strong roots. Ended up getting two of these, both in the Fall, and look forward to seeing them in bloom next year. Online pics show this Stachys as much more beautiful than the pic shown here which probably doesn't do it much justice.
