Cousin of blue bellflowers, biennial or short-lived perennial that will self seed around.

16" tall x 10-12" wide, pyramidal clumps. First year forms regular semi-evergreen to evergreen rosettes and blooms the following year. Smaller, round ivory white bells in June and July.

Sun, half sun, half shade, drier light shade, drained soil with average moisture (medium) to medium-dry. Slightly acidic or neutral soils are the best. sandy, gritty, rocky or any well drained soil.

Hardy in zones 4 to 8. Originates in Caucasus, but seem to be fairly heat and humidity tolerant in our garden.

Deer and rabbit avoids it. Flowers attract honeybees and hummingbirds.

For sunny garden, but will do fine even on northern exposures (half shade) sloped garden, rock garden, crevice gardens, bigger troughs. Can be combined with many common perennials and grasses.
