Perennial with silver leaves and light sky blue flowers arranged in spikes. Selected for better vigor, longevity in gardens and better tolerance to heavier soils.

Leaves 12' tall, total height with flowers 25-30" x 0.75-2' wide clumps. Blooms in June and July, but the semi-evergreen to evergreen leaves are ornamental all year round. Doesn't suffer with leaf diseases like green-leaf Veronica spicata.
Full sun, average garden soil, naturally well draining soils (including clayish) soil. Average moisture (medium) to medium-dry soils.
Hardy in zones 4 to 8.
Deer and rabbit resistant, attracts honey bees and butterflies.
Borders, edges, rock gardens, cottage garden, rock gardens or bigger containers or troughs. Excellent cut flower.
Sometimes offered as Veronica spicata ssp. incana 'Pure Silver'.
Combine with Asclepias tuberosa, Achillea, Alchemilla erythropoda, shorter Amsonia, Aster ericoides, Aster ptarmicoides, shorter Baptisia, Coreopsis, Echinacea, Heuchera, Kalimeris, Leucanthemum maximum, Phlox subulata, Phlox bifida, Phlox carolina hybrids, and smaller grasses. Looks striking with Geranium sanquineum.
